The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane baseball team scored 8 runs and held the host Irwin County Indians to 2 in the Purple Hurricane non-league win on Friday.

The Purple Hurricane now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Crisp County for a non-league test on Monday, February 17. Fitzgerald will clash with a Cougars team coming off a 11-9 non-league loss to Coffee (Douglas, GA). The Cougars record now stands at 0-4.

With the defeat, Irwin County drops to 1-1 on the year. The Indians travel to Berrien (Nashville, GA) to clash with the Rebels in a non-league test on Tuesday, February 18. The Rebels go into the test with a record of 2-2. Berrien lost 6-2 in their recent non-league test against Lanier County (Lakeland, GA)
