Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons (Bethesda, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Whitman Vikings (Bethesda, MD), 74-62 in a league bout.

With the win, Bethesda-Chevy Chase upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Barons travel to Gaithersburg (Gaithersburg, MD) to clash with the Trojans in a Montgomery 4A West bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-11. Gaithersburg won 49-41 in their recent non-league bout against Clarksburg (Clarksburg, MD)

Next up, the Vikings clash with the Damascus Hornets (Damascus, MD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Whitman will attempt to upgrade on its 16-5 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 7-11 record after their 65-52 league loss to Magruder (Rockville, MD).
