Genoa Area Comets (Genoa, OH) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Lake Flyers (Millbury, OH), 55-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Genoa Area upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Comets travel to Margaretta (Castalia, OH) to clash with the Polar Bears in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a record of 17-3. Margaretta won 69-64 in their recent non-league bout against Oak Harbor (Oak Harbor, OH)

Next up, the Flyers clash with the Otsego Knights (Tontogany, OH) in a Northern Buckeye bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 13-7 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 63-36 non-league loss to Liberty Center (Liberty Center, OH).
