The Mankato East Cougars basketball team (Mankato, MN), was overwhelmed 83-51 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN)
The Spartans now possess a 19-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Century for a AAAA Section 1 battle on Tuesday, February 20. Mayo will battle a Panthers team coming off a 52-39 non-league win over Faribault (Faribault, MN). The Panthers record now stands at 14-10.
The Cougars (16-8) will now prepare for their battle against Mankato West (Mankato, MN). The Scarlets come into the AAA Section 2 outing with a 10-14 record. In their last outing, Mankato West was crushed by Winona (Winona, MN), 66-45, in a non-league outing.
