In Friday's league battle, the host Parkland Matadors soccer squad scored a close 2-1 win over the Hanks Knights.
The Matadors (3-12) will now prepare for their battle against Horizon (El Paso, TX). The Scorpions go into the 5A Region 1 District 2 battle with a 4-14 record. In their last battle, Horizon was nudged by Bel Air (El Paso, TX), 8-0, in a league battle.
The Knights (6-10) will now prepare for their battle against Ysleta (El Paso, TX). The Indians go into the 5A Region 1 District 2 battle with a 8-9 record. In their last battle, Ysleta was nudged by Del Valle (El Paso, TX), 9-0, in a league battle.
