Southern Academy Cougars (Greensboro, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bessemer Academy Rebels (Bessemer, AL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Cougars now sport a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lee-Scott Academy for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 18.
With the loss, Bessemer Academy falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Evangel Christian (Alabaster, AL) to face the Lightning in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 17. The Lightning enter the challenge with a record of 2-0.
