Southern Academy Cougars (Greensboro, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bessemer Academy Rebels (Bessemer, AL), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 22-5 record. They take the field next when they host Autauga Academy for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2. Southern Academy will face a Generals squad coming off a 9-1 non-league loss to Southern Academy (Greensboro, AL). The Generals record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Bessemer Academy falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Russell Christian Academy (Meridian, MS) to face the Warriors in a AISA AA Region 2 challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 12-4. Russell Christian Academy lost 15-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Patrician Academy (Butler, AL)
