New Mexico High School Basketball - Newcomb overwhelmed by Zuni

The Zuni Thunderbirds basketball team scored 52 points and restricted the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks to 30 in the Thunderbirds league victory on Saturday.
The Thunderbirds now sport a 13-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wingate for a 3A District 1 contest on Tuesday, February 21. Zuni will battle a Bears team coming off a 64-34 league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM). The Bears record now stands at 5-19.
The Skyhawks (7-14) will now prepare for their contest against Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM). The Eagles come into the 3A District 1 contest with a 14-12 record. In their last contest, Crownpoint was routed by Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM), 39-36, in a league contest.
