North Carolina High School Basketball - Swain County thwarts Cherokee

The Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) basketball knocked off the host Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), 83-72 in Thursday's league test.

The Maroon Devils (11-11) will now prepare for their test against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC). The Black Knights go into the 1A Conference 43 - Big test with a 17-5 record. In their last test, Robbinsville notched a victory over Hayesville (Hayesville, NC), 53-42, in a league test.

The Braves now own a 11-11 record. They play next when they travel to Blue Ridge Early College for a non-league test on Monday, February 6. Cherokee will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 64-33 league win over Nantahala (Topton, NC). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-14.
