New Mexico High School Basketball - Escalante tops McCurdy

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Escalante Lobos (Tierra Amarilla, NM) and the host McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM), saw Escalante's basketball squad knock off McCurdy by a tally of 54-45.
With the victory, Escalante improves its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Lobos travel to Questa (Questa, NM) to play the Wildcats in a 2A District 5 challenge on Saturday, February 4. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 2-19. Questa lost 56-37 in their recent league challenge against Penasco (Penasco, NM)
Next up, the Bobcats play the Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Saturday, February 4. McCurdy will attempt to improve on its 9-12 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 12-9 record after their 50-48 league win over Mora (Mora, NM).
