Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Pine Forest Trojans (Fayetteville, NC) and the host Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC), saw Pine Forest's basketball squad knock off Lumberton by a tally of 59-41.

With the victory, Pine Forest improves its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Triton (Erwin, NC) to play the Hawks in a 3A/4A Conference 23 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 11-9. Triton won 67-39 in their recent league challenge against Western Harnett (Lillington, NC)

Next up, the Pirates play the Douglas Byrd Eagles (Fayetteville, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 22 challenge, on Friday, February 3. Lumberton will attempt to improve on its 18-3 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 0-20 record after their 73-38 league loss to Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC).
