Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mora Rangers/Rangerettes (Mora, NM), 50-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Mesa Vista upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Trojans travel to McCurdy (Espanola, NM) to clash with the Bobcats in a 2A District 5 bout on Saturday, February 4. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 9-12. McCurdy lost 54-45 in their recent league bout against Escalante (Tierra Amarilla, NM)

Next up, the Rangers/Rangerettes clash with the Penasco Panthers (Penasco, NM) in a 2A District 5 bout, on Saturday, February 4. Mora will attempt to upgrade on its 10-11 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 5-13 record after their 56-37 league win over Questa (Questa, NM).
