The North Marion Huskies (Aurora, OR) basketball knocked off the visiting Newport Cubs (Newport, OR), 72-57 in Thursday's league test.
The Huskies (14-3) will now prepare for their test against Stayton (Stayton, OR). The Eagles go into the 4A Oregon West test with a 12-4 record.
The Cubs now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they travel to Philomath for a 4A Oregon West test on Monday, February 6. Newport will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 50-49 league loss to Cascade (Turner, OR). The Warriors record now stands at 15-2.
