Texas High School Basketball - Seguin knocked off by Veterans Memorial

The Veterans Memorial Patriots basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Seguin Matadors to 57 in the Patriots league triumph on Thursday.

The Patriots now sport a 27-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wagner for a 5A Region IV District 26 contest on Friday, February 3. Veterans Memorial will battle a Thunderbirds team coming off a 74-71 league win over Seguin (Seguin, TX). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 16-11.

The Matadors (18-10) will now prepare for their contest against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX). The Cougars enter the 5A Region IV District 26 contest with a 7-23 record. In their last contest, Canyon ran past Pieper (San Antonio, TX), 52-50, in a league contest.
