The Gatesville Hornets basketball team (Gatesville, TX), was overwhelmed 68-22 in Thursday's league battle with the host Connally Cadets (Waco, TX)
The Cadets now possess a 23-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to La Vega for a 4A Region III District 23 battle on Friday, February 3. Connally will confront a Pirates team coming off a 80-17 league win over China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 29-5.
The Hornets (8-20) will now prepare for their battle against Salado (Salado, TX). The Eagles come into the 4A Region III District 23 battle with a 20-11 record. In their last battle, Salado trounced Robinson (Robinson, TX), 58-51, in a league battle.
