Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Suitland Rams (Forestville, MD), 43-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Laurel upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Spartans travel to Parkdale (Riverdale, MD) to play the Panthers in a Prince George's County 4A bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 13-5. Parkdale won 80-3 in their recent league bout against Bladensburg (Bladensburg, MD)

Next up, the Rams play the DuVal Tigers (Lanham, MD) in a Prince George's County 4A bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Suitland will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 6-10 record after their 54-34 league loss to Bowie (Bowie, MD).
