North Carolina High School Basketball - East Gaston nips Thomas Jefferson

February 2, 2024: Mooresboro, NC 28114

East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), 66-64 in a league bout.

With the victory, East Gaston upgrades its record to 13-7 on the campaign. The Warriors host Cherryville (Cherryville, NC) to play the Ironmen in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Ironmen come into the bout with a record of 11-9. Cherryville won 66-63 in their recent league bout against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)

Next up, the Gryphons play the Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to upgrade on its 8-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 9-10 record after their 73-60 league win over Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC).

The Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC) varsity basketball team lost Friday's home conference game against East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) by a score of 66-64.
