The Lanier Longhorns (Sugar Hill, GA) basketball felled the visiting Gainesville Red Elephants (Gainesville, GA), 50-42 in Friday's league test.
The Longhorns (10-13) will now prepare for their test against Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA). The Raiders go into the AAAAAA Region 8 test with a 17-6 record. In their last test, Habersham Central was beaten by North Forsyth (Cumming, GA), 75-71, in a league test.
The Red Elephants now own a 9-14 record. They play next when they host Jackson County for a AAAAAA Region 8 test on Tuesday, February 6. Gainesville will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 81-44 league loss to Shiloh (Snellville, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 9-14.
