Palestine Wildcats (Palestine, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Jacksonville Fightin' Indians (Jacksonville, TX), 46-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Palestine upgrades its record to 17-7 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Hudson (Lufkin, TX) to play the Hornets in a 4A Region III District 18 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 26-4. Hudson won 54-46 in their recent league bout against Rusk (Rusk, TX)

Next up, the Fightin' Indians play the Madisonville Mustangs (Madisonville, TX) in a 4A Region III District 18 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Jacksonville will attempt to upgrade on its 10-15 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 4-21 record after their 77-51 league loss to Bullard (Bullard, TX).
