Poyen Indians (Poyen, AR) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. Joseph Bulldogs (Conway, AR), 59-55 in a league bout.

With the win, Poyen upgrades its record to 15-9 on the season. The Indians host Bigelow (Bigelow, AR) to play the Panthers in a 2A Region 5 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 17-2. Bigelow won 60-55 in their recent league bout against England (England, AR)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Magnet Cove Panthers (Malvern, AR) in a 2A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. St. Joseph will attempt to upgrade on its 8-18 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 2-22 record after their 39-32 league win over Mountain Pine (Mountain Pine, AR).
