The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team (Taylorsville, NC), dropped 66-55 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC)
The Huskies now possess a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hibriten for a 3A/4A Northwestern battle on Tuesday, February 6. Ashe County will battle a Panthers team coming off a 54-37 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 15-3.
The Cougars (16-4) will now prepare for their battle against Watauga (Boone, NC). The Pioneers come into the 3A/4A Northwestern battle with a 17-3 record. In their last battle, Watauga beat South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 65-45, in a league battle.
