In Friday's league outing, the St. Johnsbury Academy Hilltoppers (St. Johnsbury, VT) basketball squad nipped the host Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT), by a margin of 52-51.

The Hilltoppers (12-2) will now prepare for their outing against Rice Memorial (South Burlington, VT). The Green Knights go into the Metro outing with a 1-12 record. In their last outing, Rice Memorial was tipped by Mt. Mansfield (Jericho, VT), 66-29, in a non-league outing.

The Redhawks now own a 12-1 record. They play next when they host Burlington for a Metro outing on Monday, February 5. Champlain Valley Union will clash with a Seahorses squad coming off a 67-58 league loss to Essex (Essex Junction, VT). The Seahorses record now stands at 10-4.
