The Clairemont Chieftains basketball team (San Diego, CA), was overwhelmed 37-15 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Kearny Komets (San Diego, CA)

The Komets now possess a 14-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mission Bay for a Central battle on Tuesday, February 6. Kearny will confront a Buccaneers team coming off a 38-26 league win over Coronado (Coronado, CA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 10-17.

The Chieftains (2-15) will now prepare for their battle against Preuss UCSD (La Jolla, CA). The Tritons come into the non-league battle with a 6-16 record. In their last battle, Preuss UCSD trounced The Cambridge School (San Diego, CA), 30-28, in a league battle.
