The La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) basketball crushed the host Connally Cadets (Waco, TX), 63-35 in Friday's league test.
The Pirates (27-8) will now prepare for their test against Gatesville (Gatesville, TX). The Hornets go into the 4A Region III District 23 test with a 11-18 record. In their last test, Gatesville was trounced by Connally (Waco, TX), 53-42, in a league test.
The Cadets now own a 22-11 record. They play next when they travel to Robinson for a 4A Region III District 23 test on Tuesday, February 6. Connally will encounter a Rockets squad coming off a 52-39 league loss to China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 11-20.
