Texas High School Basketball - Longview can't hold off Texas

The Texas Tigers basketball team scored 43 points and held the visiting Longview Lobos to 40 in the Tigers league triumph on Friday.
The Tigers now sport a 16-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tyler for a 5A Region II District 15 contest on Tuesday, February 6. Texas will battle a Lions team coming off a 63-32 league win over Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX). The Lions record now stands at 27-9.
The Lobos (21-8) will now prepare for their contest against Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, TX). The Tigers enter the 5A Region II District 15 contest with a 6-20 record. In their last contest, Mt. Pleasant was nudged by Texas (Texarkana, TX), 47-40, in a league contest.
