The R-S Central Hilltoppers tipped the visiting Polk County Wolverines basketball team by a final score of 63-56 in Friday's league game.

In their next game, the Hilltoppers face the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills game, on Tuesday, February 6. R-S Central will attempt to move on its 8-13 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 2-18 record after their 61-13 league loss to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).

With the defeat, Polk County moves to 12-8 on the year. The Wolverines travel to Chase (Forest City, NC) to face the Trojans in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills game on Friday, February 9. The Trojans enter the game with a record of 0-14.
