The St. John XXIII Lions basketball team scored 26 points and restricted the visiting The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors to 12 in the Lions league victory on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lutheran South Academy for a TAPPS 5A District 5 contest on Tuesday, February 6. St. John XXIII will battle a Pioneers team coming off a 48-44 league win over Kelly Catholic (Beaumont, TX). The Pioneers record now stands at 14-12.

The Warriors (6-18) will now prepare for their contest against Lutheran South Academy (Houston, TX). The Pioneers come into the TAPPS 5A District 5 contest with a 15-12 record. In their last contest, Lutheran South Academy prevailed over St. John XXIII (Katy, TX), 66-53, in a league contest.
