The St. Michael the Archangel Guardians (Lee's Summit, MO) basketball nipped the host University Academy Charter Gryphons (Kansas City, MO), 54-49 in Friday's league test.

The Guardians (9-8) will now prepare for their test against St. Teresa's Academy (Kansas City, MO). The Stars go into the non-league test with a 13-6 record. In their last test, St. Teresa's Academy got by Blue Valley Southwest (Overland Park, KS), 54-39, in a non-league test.

The Gryphons now own a 16-3 record. They play next when they travel to Van Horn for a Crossroads test on Tuesday, February 6. University Academy Charter will encounter a Falcons squad coming off a 41-31 league win over Summit Christian Academy (Lee's Summit, MO). The Falcons record now stands at 9-9.
