New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host South Central Falcons (Winterville, NC), 46-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, New Bern upgrades its record to 15-2 on the season. The Bears travel to West Craven (Vanceboro, NC) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-5. West Craven lost 55-52 in their recent league bout against Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC)

Next up, the Falcons clash with the Havelock Rams (Havelock, NC) in a bout, on Friday, February 9. South Central will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record.
