The South Caldwell Spartans topped the visiting Watauga Pioneers basketball team by a final score of 61-46 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Spartans face the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, February 6. South Caldwell will attempt to move on its 9-7 season record. The Patriots enter the game with a 14-1 record after their 59-36 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).

With the defeat, Watauga moves to 9-6 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to face the Cougars in a game on Tuesday, February 6. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 8-9. Alexander Central won 49-42 in their recent league game against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC)
