In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Maize Eagles (Maize, KS) basketball squad beat the host Newton Railroaders (Newton, KS), by a margin of 56-43.

The Eagles (9-10) will now prepare for their outing against Derby (Derby, KS). The Panthers go into the Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I outing with a 14-5 record. In their last outing, Derby defeated Hutchinson (Hutchinson, KS), 66-52, in a league outing.

The Railroaders now own a 2-17 record. They play next when they travel to Hutchinson for a non-league outing on Friday, February 24. Newton will clash with a Salthawks squad coming off a 66-52 league loss to Derby (Derby, KS). The Salthawks record now stands at 18-1.
