Merritt Academy Mustangs (New Haven, MI) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Carsonville-Port Sanilac Tigers (Carsonville, MI), 38-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Merritt Academy upgrades its record to 16-4 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Austin Catholic (Chesterfield, MI) to clash with the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 23. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 4-11.

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Owendale-Gagetown Bulldogs (Owendale, MI) in a North Central Thumb - Stripes bout, on Thursday, February 23. Carsonville-Port Sanilac will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 6-6 record after their 43-21 league win over Akron-Fairgrove (Fairgrove, MI).
