In Friday's league contest, the visiting Madison West Regents basketball team scored a close 63-62 triumph over the Vel Phillips Memorial Spartans.
The Regents (7-15) will now prepare for their contest against Madison La Follette (Madison, WI). The Lancers go into the Big Eight contest with a 9-10 record. In their last contest, Madison La Follette was tipped by Janesville Craig (Janesville, WI), 88-60, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Spartans confront the Madison East Purgolders (Madison, WI) in a Big Eight contest, on Thursday, February 27. Vel Phillips Memorial will attempt to better on its 17-6 season record. The Purgolders go into the contest with a 3-18 record after their 61-58 league win over Janesville Parker (Janesville, WI).
