The La Joya Coyotes softball team scored 14 runs and limited the visiting Vela Sabercats to 1 in the Coyotes league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, La Joya moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Coyotes travel to Hanna (Brownsville, TX) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league game on Thursday, February 24. The Golden Eagles come into the game with a record of 4-2. Hanna lost 6-5 in their recent non-league game against Ray (Corpus Christi, TX)

In their next game, the Sabercats play the Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 game, on Tuesday, March 1. Vela will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
