Hammond Academy of Science & Tech Hawks (Hammond, IN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Portage Christian (Portage, IN), 89-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hammond Academy of Science & Tech upgrades its record to 10-13 on the season. The Hawks travel to DeMotte Christian (DeMotte, IN) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 27. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 16-7. DeMotte Christian won 70-53 in their recent non-league bout against Winamac (Winamac, IN)

Next up, the play the Calumet Christian Patriots (Griffith, IN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 26. Portage Christian will attempt to upgrade on its 0-24 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 20-19 record after their 70-55 non-league win over Heritage Christian (Dyer, IN).
