    The Mt. Mansfield Cougars (Jericho, VT) basketball edged the visiting Essex Hornets (Essex Junction, VT), 42-39 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

    The Cougars now possess a 12-10 record. They play next when they travel to St. Johnsbury Academy for a non-league bout on Friday, February 28. Mt. Mansfield will play a Hilltoppers team coming off a 62-45 league win over Champlain Valley Union (Hinesburg, VT). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 16-6.

    With the loss, Essex falls to 6-17 on the campaign.
