The Ashley Bears basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Akron-Fairgrove Vikings to 25 in the Bears non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bears now sport a 5-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coleman for a Mid-State contest on Thursday, February 29. Ashley will battle a Comets team coming off a 64-41 non-league win over Saginaw Arts & Sciences Academy (Saginaw, MI). The Comets record now stands at 7-14.

The Vikings (2-18) will now prepare for their contest against Au Gres-Sims (Au Gres, MI). The Wolverines enter the non-league contest with a 16-5 record. In their last contest, Au Gres-Sims triumphed over Heston Academy (St. Helen, MI), 66-17, in a non-league contest.
