The Manzano Monarchs softball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Highland Hornets to 0 in the Monarchs non-league win on Thursday.

The Monarchs now possess a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Albuquerque for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 1. Manzano will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Cibola (Albuquerque, NM). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Highland moves to 0-1 on the season. The Hornets host West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM) to confront the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Saturday, March 1. The Mustangs come into the battle with a record of 1-2. West Mesa lost 8-7 in their recent non-league battle against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
