The Marcos de Niza Padres got by the host Coronado Dons softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Padres (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Tempe (Tempe, AZ). The Buffaloes go into the non-league battle with a 2-3 record. In their last battle, Tempe was edged by Combs (San Tan Valley, AZ), 15-3, in a non-league battle.
The Dons now sport a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Shadow Mountain for a non-league battle on Wednesday, March 1. Coronado will meet a Matadors squad coming off a 17-0 non-league loss to Eastmark (Mesa, AZ). The Matadors record now stands at 0-2.
