In Friday's non-league contest, the host HEM Miners basketball team scored a close 59-56 win over the Midwest Oilers.
The Miners (7-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Southeast (Yoder, WY). The Cyclones come into the 1A Southeast challenge with a 14-10 record. In their last challenge, Southeast edged Hulett (Hulett, WY), 54-34, in a non-league challenge.
