South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC), 14-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Raiders now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Lincolnton for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. South Point will battle a Wolves squad coming off a 11-9 non-league win over Forestview (Gastonia, NC). The Wolves record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, Bessemer City falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets host East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) to battle the Warriors in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 0-1. East Gaston lost 8-5 in their recent non-league match against Forestview (Gastonia, NC)
