Independence Tigers (Independence, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Bogalusa Lumberjacks (Bogalusa, LA), 29-14 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Jefferson RISE Charter for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 4. Independence will battle a squad coming off a 18-3 non-league loss to Varnado (Angie, LA). The record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Bogalusa falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Lumberjacks travel to Mt. Hermon (Mt. Hermon, LA) to battle the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 4-2.
