In Friday's league outing, the North Hopkins Panthers (Sulphur Springs, TX) basketball squad edged the host Alba-Golden Panthers (Alba, TX), by a count of 44-38.

The Panthers (22-6) will now prepare for their outing against Fruitvale (Fruitvale, TX). The Bobcats go into the 2A Region II District 15 outing with a 3-21 record. In their last outing, Fruitvale was tipped by Como-Pickton (Como, TX), 54-32, in a league outing.

The Panthers now hold a 12-13 record. They play next when they travel to Cooper for a 2A Region II District 15 outing on Tuesday, February 7. Alba-Golden will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 65-56 league loss to Cumby (Cumby, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-7.
