Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers (Augusta, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA), 51-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Augusta Prep Day upgrades its record to 7-13 on the season. The Cavaliers host Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA) to clash with the Buccaneers in a GIAA AA Region 4 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a record of 11-11. Briarwood Academy won 60-54 in their recent non-league bout against Piedmont Academy (Monticello, GA)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Alleluia Community (Augusta, GA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. Edmund Burke Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-16 season record. The go into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 91-76 non-league loss to Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA).
