The Big Sandy Pioneers (Big Sandy, MT) basketball nipped the host Box Elder Bears (Box Elder, MT), 69-65 in Friday's league test.
The Pioneers (12-3) will now prepare for their test against North Star (Rudyard, MT). The Knights go into the C District 9 test with a 4-6 record. In their last test, North Star was tipped by Chester-Joplin-Inverness (Chester, MT), 57-46, in a non-league test.
The Bears now own a 8-1 record. They play next when they travel to Fort Benton for a C District 9 test on Saturday, February 4. Box Elder will encounter a Longhorns squad coming off a 54-38 non-league win over Conrad (Conrad, MT). The Longhorns record now stands at 9-3.
