Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA), 62-56 in a league bout.

With the victory, Chartiers Valley upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Colts host Mars (Mars, PA) to play the Fightin' Planets in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Fightin' Planets come into the bout with a record of 13-6. Mars lost 77-72 in their recent league bout against South Fayette (McDonald, PA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league bout, on Sunday, February 5. Moon Area will attempt to upgrade on its 9-9 season record. The Antelopes come into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 53-51 league loss to Quaker Valley (Leetsdale, PA).
