Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Klondike Cougars (Lamesa, TX) and the host Dawson Dragons (Welch, TX), saw Klondike's basketball squad hold off Dawson by a tally of 1-0.

With the victory, Klondike improves its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Cougars host Loop (Loop, TX) to play the Longhorns in a 1A Region I District 8 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Longhorns come into the challenge with a record of 6-14.

Next up, the Dragons play the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) in a 1A Region I District 8 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Dawson will attempt to improve on its 2-13 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 14-15 record after their 29-26 league loss to Grady (Lenorah, TX).
