Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Derry Trojans (Derry, PA) and the host Valley Vikings (New Kensington, PA), saw Derry's basketball squad overcome Valley by a tally of 68-50.

With the victory, Derry improves its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Trojans host Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) to play the Bulldogs in a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 14-5. Shady Side Academy won 64-60 in their recent league challenge against Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Deer Lakes Lancers (Russellton, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. Valley will attempt to improve on its 4-16 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 12-7 record after their 66-38 league win over Apollo Ridge (Spring Church, PA).
