Texas High School Basketball - Emerson topped by Independence

The Independence Knights basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting Emerson Mavericks to 40 in the Knights league victory on Friday.
The Knights now sport a 18-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Centennial for a 5A Region II District 10 contest on Saturday, February 4. Independence will battle a Titans team coming off a 38-35 league loss to Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Titans record now stands at 16-12.
The Mavericks (11-15) will now prepare for their contest against Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Warriors come into the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 16-14 record. In their last contest, Memorial prevailed over Lebanon Trail (Frisco, TX), 88-63, in a league contest.
