In Friday's league outing, the Panhandle Panthers (Panhandle, TX) basketball squad beat the host Highland Park Hornets (Amarillo, TX), by a count of 51-38.

The Panthers (18-6) will now prepare for their outing against Bovina (Bovina, TX). The Mustangs go into the 2A Region I District 3 outing with a 14-13 record. In their last outing, Bovina was topped by Vega (Vega, TX), 52-49, in a league outing.

The Hornets now hold a 11-16 record. They play next when they travel to Boys Ranch for a 2A Region I District 3 outing on Tuesday, February 7. Highland Park will clash with a Roughriders squad coming off a 70-28 league loss to Farwell (Farwell, TX). The Roughriders record now stands at 10-13.
